Process / Refresh Local Power BI Desktop instances
The problem is that when you get used to using the Refresh capability of Tabular Editor 3 where it is supported and then start to work on an import Power BI Desktop project locally, the refresh is no longer available or supported. I find the granular refresh capabilities in TE3 so very useful and a great development feature. While Microsoft has came a long way on the Desktop Hardening, it seems that this last remaining processing feature is still on the list. While it is stated: "Sending processing commands to a semantic model loaded in Power BI Desktop is not supported" it seems that at least through the .Net ADO and ADOMD objects it is supported. Maybe it is not supported in other ways. I think it would be great to expand the Refresh capability of TE3 to include this method to refresh local models. Here is a code snippet that works fine when run in VS Code against a opened Power BI Desktop import model. It works fine with both the AdomdConnection and AdomdCommand as well as the OleDbConnection and OleDbCommand. - Bring the current refresh capabilities to Power BI Desktop import models
